With the announcement of the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 Bison, we are gearing up for outdoor adventures. Chevrolet is producing this new truck with American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) and giving the Bison some incredible off-road capabilities. Here are some of the features we are looking forward to the most.
Front and rear bumpers
If you plan to go off roading, you are going to bump into a few things. The ZR2 Bison helps you avoid more serious bumps with its steep front and rear bumpers. These bumpers also include heavy duty recovery points and integrated step pads. You can even add an available winch to the front bumper.
The ZR2 Bison helps protect vital vehicle components with its five hot-stamped boron steel skid plates. These cover the fuel tank, transfer case, and front and rear differential.
Standard on the ZR2 Bison is the 6.2-liter V8 engine rated at 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. If you are looking for something else, it is also available with the 3.0-liter Duramax® diesel. This year, the Duramax® engine comes with some upgrades including an increased output of 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque.
Improved off-road stats
When compared to the standard Silverado ZR2, the Bison has an improved approach angle of 32.5 degrees and an increased departure angle of 23.4 degrees.
